For the price, these are a good deal. As an FFL, I am using these as base pistols for minimal effort restorations for resale; and customized pistols for clients that are looking for a solid P229s with enhancements.
For the average buyer, this is the lowest-cost option for getting an affordable P229. These otherwise run $1000 and up new on the market today. Even with new grips and a new barrel, once these clean up, they're still much less expensive than any P229 out there.
If you're looking to get a P229 at less then $500, you won't find them anywhere else for a lower price. Trust me, I looked.
