Description
The Colt Combat Elite Government is a duty ready pistol. The Government has full stainless steel construction with a unique two tone PVD finish which makes for a striking corrosion package. The Dual Spring Recoil System reduces felt recoil while extending the recoil spring life. Features a genuine Novak night front sight and Novak Low Mount Carry night sight. Safeties are Ambi-Extended Thumb Safety, Upswept Beavertail Grip Safety and Series 80 Firing Pin Safety. Solid Aluminum trigger with a trigger weight of 4.5-6 lbs. This is my fourth 1911,third Colt. Given this is an older production run from likely 2020 timeframe the gun was a little dry but needed to be cleaned anyway. Otherwise the gun was flawless.
Cleaned and oiled it up, took it to the range, fired 300 rounds with zero issues. Frame fit is perfect, double recoil springs makes a noticeable difference. Novak sights take some getting used to. Other than that, it’s a beautiful piece that I can’t wait to take to the range again.
