Description
This curated lot includes two iconic early 20th-century vest pocket pistols, ideal for collectors of European curio & relic handguns. First is an Ortgies .380 Auto hammerless pistol, manufactured by Deutsche Werke in Erfurt, Germany. Less common in .380 Auto, this compact semi-auto features a blued frame and slide, walnut grips, and the distinct integrated grip safety. It comes with an original magazine marked "Deutsche Werke" and retains about 70% of its original finish with honest edge wear and smooth mechanics.
The second pistol is a Fabrique Nationale Model 1905, also known as the Browning "Vest Pocket." Built in Herstal, Belgium under John Browning’s patent, it’s chambered in .25 ACP and fitted with FN-marked black bakelite grips. It shows similar finish wear with some light pitting, but remains mechanically sound with a good bore. These pistols reflect an era when concealment and craftsmanship went hand in hand—an excellent duo for any historical handgun display or collector’s safe.
