Description

Plainfield Machine "Commando Mark II" in great condition. Plainfield Machine was a manufacturer of mostly-new production M1 Carbines in the 1960s, supplying the civilian, police, and occasional military markets. While most of their products were in normal configuration, some were more unusual. This one, the Commando Mark II, is perhaps the most unusual of all. A standard M1 carbine mechanically, the usual wooden stock has been replaced with a cast aluminum one-piece affair made to resemble a 1928 Thompson, complete with removable Thompson style stock. A flash hider has additionally been fitted. Condition is very good. Parkerized metal surfaces are very clean. The bed-liner like paint applied to the aluminum furniture is intact except for some lost paint on the bottom of the grip sections. The removable wood stock fits well and is free of serious dings. All mechanical functions seem to work and a new production magazine is included.
